This album was written from pain, from growth, and from learning how to be whole again. ‘Rites of Passage’ is a coming of age story attempting to redefine and reclaim black manhood.

Creating this music was a journey of its own. This album represents the best and worst of me--and of my life. It is my wish that when you listen to this body of work, you find peace from the hard world we are all attempting to navigate. To the people who feel unbearable pain: may these sounds give you peace. And I hope this album can help give direction to those who feel they lack any.

I would like to thank the talented musicians who put their souls into creating this vision; the countless people who have supported, encouraged and continue to inspire me everyday; to the strength of my ancestors, for nothing I am would be possible if not for what they endured; and to God, because even when my faith may sometimes waiver, The Most High has never stopped remaining a source of unconditional love and guidance.
